The Faculty of Architecture and Planning, formerly known as the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, was established in 1967 with four divisions: Civil Architecture, Industrial Architecture, Urban Planning, and Architectural Physics. In 1969, the Faculty established the Division of Art Fundamentals.

In 1971, the Faculty was renamed the Faculty of Architecture. In 1976, the Division of Drawing and Technical Drawing was established.

In 2005, in response to emerging demands in education and development, the Faculty was renamed the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, a title it has retained to the present day. Alongside the development of the University, over the past 58 years, the Faculty has continuously grown and strengthened its capacity in education, research, and collaboration. In 2009, the Faculty established the Division of Landscape Architecture and the Division of Urban Infrastructure Planning; in 2015, the Division of Interior Architecture was established.

In line with new development requirements and international integration trends, the Division of Architectural Physics was renamed the Division of Environmental Architecture in 2014, and the Division of Industrial Architecture was renamed the Division of Architectural Technology in 2016.

In 2025, the Faculty’s 10 academic divisions were restructured into 10 specialized academic groups in accordance with national regulations.

At present, the Faculty manages 09 undergraduate programs, 02 master’s programs, and 02 doctoral programs.
