Educational Philosophy
Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning – Hanoi University of Civil Engineering
Building on more than half a century of formation and development, the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning has established its educational philosophy based on a harmonious combination of academic tradition, creative thinking, and social responsibility. This philosophy is anchored on three core pillars: Uniqueness – Innovation – Leadership.
The Faculty aims to educate architects, urban planners, and designers with solid professional competence, interdisciplinary thinking, and the ability to adapt to a global context, while instilling humanistic values, professional ethics, and a sense of responsibility toward the community and the living environment. Education is not limited to the transmission of knowledge; it is also a process of nurturing critical thinking, creativity, and the capacity to solve real-world urban and contemporary spatial challenges.
The Faculty’s educational philosophy emphasizes learning by doing, integrating teaching with scientific research, professional practice, and international collaboration. Students are placed at the center of the learning process, encouraged to explore, experiment, and develop ideas in an open and diverse learning environment that integrates art – technology – environment.
At the same time, the Faculty is committed to building a high-quality educational ecosystem, where lecturers act as academic leaders and sources of inspiration, curricula are regularly updated to meet international standards, and educational activities are aligned with the development needs of society, industry, and the profession.
With this philosophy, the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning aims to cultivate a generation of independent-thinking, creative, and pioneering professionals who contribute to the creation of sustainable, distinctive, and internationally integrated living spaces.
